BP Compare Support

BP Compare helps you record paired upper-arm and wrist blood pressure readings, compare the differences between them, review history and trends, and keep your data synchronized across your Apple devices with iCloud.

Getting started

  1. Open BP Compare and choose or create a patient.
  2. Enter a paired upper-arm and wrist reading.
  3. Enter systolic, diastolic, pulse, cuff side, and device information. Notes are optional.
  4. Save the paired reading.
  5. Use History to review readings, individual cuff differences, and cumulative trends.

Understanding cuff differences

BP Compare calculates cuff difference as wrist minus upper-arm. A positive value means the wrist reading was higher. A negative value means the wrist reading was lower.

The Individual cuff difference chart shows the actual difference for each paired reading. The Cumulative cuff difference chart shows the running average over time.

iCloud synchronization

BP Compare uses Apple iCloud and CloudKit to synchronize data between your Apple devices. The sync indicator shows the app’s current synchronization status.

If two devices appear out of sync, allow both devices time to connect to iCloud and refresh. You can open Sync Details to compare patient counts, reading counts, and the dataset fingerprint.

Managing patients and readings

Use Manage to review patients and access data-management tools. In History, tap Select to choose readings for editing or deletion. Edit is available when exactly one record is selected. Delete can apply to one or multiple selected records and requires confirmation.

CSV import and export

Use Manage to import compatible BP Compare CSV data or export your current data. Exported files may contain sensitive health information. Protect exported files and share them only with people you intend to receive them.

Missing or unexpected data

If a reading or patient appears to be missing, first check the selected patient and History filter. Then confirm the app reports Synced and compare Sync Details on your devices before making major changes.

Medical use

BP Compare is a recording and comparison tool. It does not diagnose medical conditions, provide medical treatment, or replace advice from a qualified healthcare professional. Do not use BP Compare as the sole basis for medical decisions.

Please do not email patient names, blood pressure records, medical record numbers, or other private health information. Remove personal information from screenshots before sending them.
